Mrs Malvina E Keller
Dear Malvina I have to day Received
a few liens from W Covert he says he has been down to see that crop raised on that land and he says it is not worth the price that Hathaway asks for it consequently we will not buy it. if Hathaway does not send the deede in a few days we will not buy the land he has certainly had plenty of time probaly he is trying to do better if so let him go it. if the deed is not at hand again you get this letter do not pay for the land untill you heare from me. W Buckles received a letter from his brother John to day he says them clothes have come to hand probaly you think they are hardly worth sending but I had them and coulde not very well take care of them on a tramp so I thought it woulde be better to send them home than throw them away those over Coats are a very good Coat for winter I hope you are all well nearly halfe of our Regt is sick but my health is good West Aspinall is nearly well and has come to camp olde Billy is well Dick is down sick with the Ague Oh for a good shower of rain the dust is flying in evry direction and the weather is very warm to day. it looks a little like rain and I hope it will come any how sufficient to lay the dust. this is the third letter I have writen to you this week and I have received one from you dated the 16 of this month I looked very mutch for one to day but was disapointed / write and give me all the news you can I received a letter a few days ago from John Passon the are well John says he is going to war this fall. I have no doupt but what you have hearde that the Indians have commenced killing the white away back in the interior of Minnesota to an alarming extent the devils how I woulde like to be after them but we are after other Game at this time and place. I cannot think of any thing to write about that woulde interest you so I will come to a close. enclosed you will finde five dollars from your most devoted husband

has Ella forgoten me or does she say anything about me does the Boys ever talk about me are they learing fast do the remember anything about the olde log Cabin poor little fellows how I woulde like to see them I hope they are good Boys and do not run off up in town if they are not good Boys let me know. and if they are not good Boys you must whip them for me I shoulde be very sorry to heare they wer not good Boys and do not obey there Mother
