Mrs Malvina E Keller
                                    My deare wife as we are ordered to leave I thought I would set down and write you a few hasty liens wher we are going I do not know but think we are going to Texas as soon as we stop again I will write to you I have been unwell for several days but have been taking medicine and mutch better and feel able to go with the Regiment my heart feels rather sad at the idea of going farther away from Home but it cannot be avoided I must go—Oh how I wish this Cruel war was over I hope you are all well and doing well let me heare from you I have not had a letter from you Since Spake came back to the Regiment
Malvina keepe good Courage there is a better day Coming for us
 
            I commenced writing these liens directly after dinner thinking we woulde leave before night but at present it is nine oclock at Night at day breake in the morning we leave as neare as I can learne we are going to the Mouthe of the Sabiene River in Texas the Boys are well I have nothing more to write at present so I will Close by Saying good Night deare wife and little ons
