Camp Near Vermilian Louisiana October 11th 1863

                                    Dear wife I again have the opportunity of adressing you a few liens this is Sunday and we have not as yet to day Started on the March but expect To Start this afternoon or in the morning we traveled yesterday 23 mile Some of the Boys got very tiard as they have got to carry there Knapsacks an acouterments and Gun I got some tiard my Selfe but feel well this morning and would like to be going ahead so as to get through with this tramp the weather is beautifull and dry yesterday we traveled through a nice Country mostly Roleing Prairie but rather thinly Settled with People. the Cattle and Ponies are in greate Abundence we are camped camped on the Vermillian River and are about foure mile from a village of that name we go through it when we Start up again the maile has just come in this minuit but no letter for me as I have nothing mutch to write about I will close and the Maile is prepareing to go out I will write evry opportunity but begin to think it is about time I was getting a letter from you the Boys are all well
