                                                                                    Morganzies Louisiana June 5th 1864
            Dear Malvina
 
                                                This Sunday Morning I thought I would write you a few liens hoping they may finde you all well as for my Selfe for the last few days I have not been very well but I have been taking some quinine and this morning feel about well again and my leg is about well also I am ready for duty again. for the last few days it has been raining frequently. when we will leave here I know not but hope it will not be long as I am very tiard of this place I have not received a letter from you for a long time I think our Mail is lying some place but it is rather curious some of our Boys get letters while some of us get none but I am looking eagerly for a bunch of them some of those days. I would like to heare how you are geting along at Home. the fact is I cannot think of any thing to write about untill I do heare from you so I will stop writing for the present. yours for ever

                                                            I have been looking and awaiting for to get a letter from you but yet none the Mail has just come but no letter from you I cannot imagin what is the reason as some of the other Boys get letters up to the 25th of May by this Mail I have been delayed writing to you hoping to heare from you first before writing again but I have concluded to write at any Rate hoping the next mail may bring a letter from you to me it has been a long time since I have hearde from you the Bluffton Boys are all well
