                                    Deare Malvina as I have leasure this after noon I will adress you a few liens although I get but few letters from you and the mails go and come to us regular. on the Fourth of this Monthe the Soldiers are going to celebrate that day and probaly some of the citizens will be present also on that ocasion I wish I wer at Home on that day but if the Lorde Spares me this time next yeare I will be with you and we will celebrate the day Remember that
 
to day is very hot and Sultry Oh how I wish I had a good drink of water out of our well the water here is very poor and as warm as dish Water we have dug Wells and dug about foure feet and the water comes up to the top so we can dip it out if I could get good water I would be glad but there is none here and we must use sutch as we can get it rained very harde here yesterday after Noon I have been out on Drill this fore part of the day you can easyly imagin I have nothing to write about I could write more if I could get a letter from you ocasionly So I will close. here is Samuel Wisners Photograph he is a Seargeant in my Company and is a good fellow the first oportunity I will sende you more I have got an other nice Company Roll I will keep it untill I go Home and then I purpose on geting a good frame for it I will never get the olde one framed this is so mutch nicer I mean the olde one behinde the Glass in the Room. Oh yes tell Sam to Straiten up and not go humped up and for him to learne to throw his arms and hands Strait out behinde his back as I used to try and learn him to do I hope when I see him he will be more Strait / than when I left home do all you can to learn him to walk erect and holde his heade up and keep his Shoulders well back I never want to see my Boy of Mine go Moaping around bent up like he had no life in him it is an ugly habit and nothing else but I hope Sam is not one of that kinde Ella and Caty are Strait more especialy Ella Oh how I wish I could see them to day I often imagin I can see them playing betwen the Stable and the House I hope they are well deare little things but enough for the present yours
