Algeirs La July 25th 1864
My Deare Malvina
When I last wrote to you I expect we would by this time be out on the briny deep but we did not get off as expected we are this morning packing up to leave this afternoon the Ship is here at the wharfe that is going to take us away time is passing by rapidly it is but a very short time untill Fall we will get around in Virginia about the 2nd or 3rd of August I received a letter from you yesterday dated the 10 of July I was glad to heare frum you and learn you wer all well my health is good as usual it is rather Singular that money has not come to hand as yet I hope you have got it by this time I am very glad you have give up the Company of that woman and would be pleased to learn you had quit off from Jane the Doctor does not say mutch to me I guess he thinks I tolde news on him when at Home he apears very distant and I do not care if I do not get Sick and have to go to him for medicine he is a trifling devil any way and you know my opinion in regard to his mate and I did hope you would have nothing more to do with her when you write to me leave any news about her out for she has not got a very good reputation down this way and any news about her is not very interresting to me I assure you I would not have mentioned her name if you had not done so in your last to me and I think the time is not far distant when you will regret that you did not take my advice I am always perticular about my Company I go in /
I regret very mutch in refering to this matter but I infer from the tenor of your last that you and her are on terms of intamacy as before. no more on the subject I hope you will not think harde of me for Speaking so plaine. you know my best wishes are for you and you have the same right to dictate to me if you do not at any time think I am in the right kind of Company to make intimate friends of. Oh yes you say my old Hog has returned good or bully for her. how did the wheat come out but you promis in your next to give me some information about the Farm but I expect it will come to this place and I will not get it untill Fall it will however be but a short time untill I can see for my Selfe if I live and I feel very mutch like living a while longer at this time if the Rebs will let me alone I think I will go through like a mice as I have nothing to write about I will close yours most affectionately S J Keller
