                                                            Mouth of White River Arkansas Nov 11th 1864

                                                I again wright you a few hasty liens hoping they may finde you and the little ons well I have received no letter from you since I last wrote to you it is the talke we leave to Morrow Sunday for up White River again probaly to Duvals Bluff I do hate to go up that River but I must go there was some talke of leaving us non Veterans here and sende us Home in a few days but the orders are that we must go along with the Regiment. I think in about twenty days from this time we will Start Home the time will soon be here the 1st of December. I made a little raise of money to day by Selling my Pistol for Fifteen Dollars I am going to Save that to take me Home as I feare we are not going to the Paid before we leave it was lucky for me that I solde my Pistol for I was completely out of Money and I hope never to be in sutch a condition again as I have nothing to write about I will close for this time but I will soon wright again when we land up White River yours most affectionately
