Frank I am A live yet I give you A little histry of this plaise thear is two regiments & one company of artillery with twenty cannons on drawn by six horses Each three gun Boats with morters and cannons on them Beside Company A witch is guarding the railrode depo and four miles on the track. it is A pleasant place here most of the white people have left the place but thear is nigears A nough here Elder calahan was here to day and preached to ous a good sermon he gave ous a history of his vorge on the thames Company E witch horis wood is in tha are station about half way from here to Neworleans. the nearest postofis is at Neworleans tha have a man on the cars that carryes the letters Back and forwards from here I have got the jandeus puty Bad I am prity yellow now if I could git some hops I think twould do me some good we expect a Battle hear Every moment let them come we are ready for them have corage frank I shall fetch Round Bimby than I can tell you the hull histry of my travels tell mr lewis you want mony enough to by A good map with git A good one if it cost five Dolars then you can tell whear I am I send to paper with this letter write every week
