Frank, I have A fiew moments to write this Brigade is back to the City again on the old camp ground Again we struck tents and marched Back in the night I was puty tierd we had to sleep on the ground that night and the next night to we had nothing But our Blanketts to sleep on we had to Be cald into line of Battle night before last expected to have A Battle with the Rebels But tha did not come to Attack ous. thear is from fifteen to twenty thousands troops Betwix hear and Neworleans staitions on the Railrode in diferane plases Redey to come on when general werkel moves his army on towards franklin A Bout twenty miles from hear to Atack the Rebel army witch on the forth page mistake, rest
is in camp thear with A large foarce the Rebels have got A strong fort thear. But we have got canons with ous that will throw shells three miles then will Be apt to start them from the foart have them go puty fast this Brigade moves on first and the Rest follow oup it ma Be that the Rebels will Attack ous hear thinking we aint got much force But tha will find when tha tri it that we have. I cant write the whole perticklers now when this Brigade started from Bayou Boeff tha was three ours crosing the Brig the Batery crost first, the caverley next then the infantry then the Bagage wagons folowed on nest when the whole division is on A march 15 or 20 thousand men it will be a site Asa Holmes
Frank I dont feel vary well now my head feels Bad and I am sick all over me and feel vary weak to But I ceap on Duty yet I think the judgers is coming on to me Again I hope not this warm weather its hard to Be sick in the army I tell you thear is no mercy showen him. horis mcguyre and william Mcguyre are well. horis Mcguyre is A smart young man he appears like a gentleman. I think now we shall Be home in six months from this time ma Be Befour I think things look like it now more than ever it did Before Frank thear is most four months pay Due me now. the first day of may thear will Be four months pay due me and if I dont git it you must it will fifty two Dolars Besides the seventy five Dolars in all it will amount to 127 dolars oup to the first day of may Beside the Bounty land you must git that to if I dont Return all of it will help you vary mutch, and that, Mr Lewis has got two I Beleave it is about 150 Dolars in all I let him have the papers will show for it. judge Clark has got them so you will know whear to find them if I dont Return give mary A Delia Boy Elroy 25 Dolars out of the mony and mary A Delia half of the Bounty land she must help you git it. But I hope I shall Return to oxford once more to see you all Again the Boys that was left Back sick is with the Regement now also vinson Lomis he looks healthy now Asa Holmes
