Frank I feel vary losom to Day and down harted we have got orders to march I dont know whear to yet I suppose west of Neworleans to gard the railrode and Nigers to ceap them from runing A way it has Ben vary cold for two days it frose ice the tha say for A grate while the city is ounder marchel laws a gard is placed in evry corner on the whear ground we are there weare 7000 rebels encampt when Butler took the city he made them run in all direcksions for life I have sent you some rosses rold oup in A paper and verses save them I would like to Be in old oxford to Day I have sent you four letters, four papers git them all good by all
