Having met by chance with your address and being superstitious enough to believe that it was by direction of “Old Dame Fortune”; We have taken the liberty of sending you a Scheme of a truly Grand and Brilliant Lottery, to be drawn in Public Assembly, in Wilmington—Delaware, on Monday April 29th 1861, class 254 (See Scheme enclosed.) We have selected and now hold for you in this Splendid Lottery a Package of 26 well arranged Tickets, which can draw you the four highest Prizes, amounting to nearly $50.000, and will be sent you for the Small sum of $20, Bills on any Bank good where issued. This Package gives you the advantage of $3250 worth of Tickets, and to Convince you of our Confidence in its success, we will promise to send you another Package for nothing, if the one selected does not draw $6,000, more than you sent us. We make this offer in good faith with a desire to sell you a Good Prize, and the only return we ask of you is, after we send you the money the Package draws, you will use your influence to increase our Business, in your locality.
