Dear Mother it is with the greatest pleasure that i sit down to let you how how we are agetting a long I received your letter and was glad to here from you and harriets and lizey Horner that is the only one that i halve got from home since i started and i dont like it a bit i halve rote 10 or 15 letters since i started from home I was doun at Parkton on the 18 and harrison anderson got aletter and state ed that father had sent five or six letters / to us and we halve not received one of them ithink he does not put the rigt directions on them we are agetting very good grub now but we dont get all that is alowed us if we did we could sell agoodeal of it or traid for some thing that we wanted the Boys is all well except Jonson toppin he has had the tooth ache for some time there is some talk of us agoing back to Parkton or go up there twise awweek we would go up once aweek rather than to move there for this is the best plase and thomas and i can sho make here and there we can not and this is a great deal better plase i wished you would tell pap to send us some postage stamps and i send you finger ring excuse all mestakes and blots i still remain your sun G W Carter

Mrs. Carter. your son George is writing to you and I asked privelidge to write you a few lines to you your boys are getting fine they are well and harty and like soldiering very well so you can tel the girls of Millsboro that we are all well and hope we will get / back to see them all and play Sister Feeby tel them they must not all get Married befor we get back for we would like to Dance at some of their weddings for we dont get to Dance mutch in the armey aspecily with the girls with these few lines I will close
