Dear father and mother and brothers and sisters this nice Sabath morning finds me seated for the purpose of sadisfying you that we are all well at present E Coneway is well enough for duty now the rest of the boys is well this is the last stamp ihalve and the rest of the boys is the same way we went up to parkton on fridy last and we sind the pay roll and i think that we will get our money before agreate while there is some talk of us agoing to Texes on the fleet we will no be for a greate while whether we will go or not for my part i would rather go for my part the boys is not in agood umer for we halve not got aletter this week from toun you must not think / Hard about us not riting often for we halve not got the paper or invelops nor stamps but we halve plenty to eat and ware and we in joy our selves very well but some one stole my shoes and a package of paper and if you can send me apair of boots i wish you would send them you can send them by adams express and they will come right to the door and if they dont come you can make them pay for them I only halve the boots that i starte ed from home with and there a bout gon and i wish you would like for you to send us some stamps them 5 that you did send thomas Lost them the next day tell Nuton carter and Lot stanley that they must excuse me for i cant rite and others that i halve bin riting to James Hawthorn / State ed that Ben and us Had bin gamble ing or els we would halve money yet but that is not the case for we had to by our own grub for two or three weeks when we first come and they are a take ing us as it is just skining the soulgers here for tobaco is only 100 dolar and the we are out of that I want you to send us some to ba co to if you can I receave ed Beneys and hariets letters I halve rote to or three to Eliz Jane and halve not got any ancer yet she state ed that she did not no what is the reason that i dont rite i cant rite 5 or six a week for if we would go on as we did when we first come here we would not halve any money when we was payed off for i rote 4 or 5 aday at first /
