                                                                            November the 27 1864.
Camp Near PetersBurg. Va.
 
                                                                                                Dear Mother.
yours of the 21 was receveed and red with much pleasure I was glad to here from you and to here of you injoying your viset so well but was sorrow to here of the Row they had in town while you was a way if the Gentleman had of come while I was there I would of shot with him if I had of bin there there would of bin no fuss he would of voted or one of us would of seen hoo could done the best shooting I hope that there is a here after to settle that up right and it shall be done if I see him and I will tell / him that he done right by reporting him if he did but I thought that Father was a Better souldier than that tell him to not say any thing a bout in Listing now for there is biger fights in the army than that would of bin well that is a nough of that foolishness well I will tell you a bout thanks giveing day it was very dry here but the next day they gave us some Turkey and chicken Rost Beaf some Butter dried fruit apples Rost Pork we had a good supper of them I rote a letter while I was at york to Aldorado and sent a photograph in it and she has not answered my letter yet I dont know wether she got it or not well there is nothing else that I can think of this time I will close for the presant and try and do better the next time from
