Dear. Brother.
as i halve not ritten you a letter since i left home i thought i would wright you one and send you a presant of our General that commanded our divission last winter and at the Battle of Geties Burg Commanded 3 Corps the 2 and 3 and 11 during the Battle and was wounded there and is now a recruiting for the 2ond Corps. he will take the command when the spring campain opens there is nothing a going on here of any importance now well William halve you got the war feaver to they say the small boys has a nothing of trying soldiering well take my advise and stay at home you and Ben are both yong and / it will suit you both to stay at home for some time yet any how this thing of boys a comeing in the survis dont pay for when they get out and go on Picket and ar tiare they say that they would there bounty to be at home a setting a round there fire sides but when they come out out here that all plays out with them you stay there and do as your Mother tells you and that is the best that you can do.
