Dear Mother
I seat my self to wright you a few lines to let you know that I am well at presant I came to the regment on the 13theenth of this month we came back from City point yester day evening on transports and landed up the James river a bout 15 miles well the wether is very warm here it is very dirrty I dont know how many there was came down here but there was a a great many Boat load of men and one Divission of Cavelry came a long with us and we halve some gun / Boats here with us there is nothing els that I can think of this time you sun
