Camp Near Martinsburg va
Dear Sir
it is the greatest of Pleasure that i seat my self to let you no that i am well and i hope you are the same grason i am sory to tell you that i cant send you any money for we ant been Payed of for nine months but we expect to get Payed in four or five Days and then i will accomodete you with all my heart for you have accomodted me well grason i will tell you something / about the war the war in this Department has become genraly if we Dont have a fight evry other Day we get mad evry time we commence a fight we get shipped we have got use to it and Dont mind it a bit last saterday we had a regular nock Down the rebles Drove us about five mile like Driving cattle ho ho here get out of this you Dam yanky sons bithches you would of laughed to ov seen Jack fight the Duel with a / reble they fought with their long guns they Did not fight long till they he maid the reble run Now i think i will close hoping to hear from you soon Nothing more but still remains your friend
