seat my self this evening to an swer your knd letter which I receeveed some days a go and the reason that i did not answer sooner was we went on a reconostance and was gon 3 days and then returned two camp and went on Picket 3 days your letter found mee well and the rest of the Boys the same you wanted to know some thing a bout Jonson Toppin he is in the invilent Corps i dont know what Bitalion we halve not had a letter from him since we l[?]ed / Morris burgh and he rot to us for money and we had ent bin payed off and we did not send him any and he got mad a bout it at least i think he did for he dont right and we dont know where to wright two I am agoing to send you a Roll of the Company and start it the same time i start this letter there is nothing more this time
