Kind. Aunt.
                                                                                                                        it is with
pleasure that I sit down to answer your kind letter which I received a few knights a go and was glad to hear from you. but I was sorrow to hear that there was hard feelings among the parents because we came to gather. well I wanted to go to the army and so did your boys and we thought that we might as well go to gather. so as if there was any thing the matter with any one the rest could see to taking care / of them. and then we would be acquainted with each other. there was no one coaxed me off I took a notion to go and so I went of my own accord. George and Ben is on Picket and I have been in camp. this time they have been out three days, they come in to day. We have vary nice wether here now, it is almost as nice as summer. we have had some as nice wether this winter as ever I saw in my life. we have had no cold wether this winter of any account. There is not mutch knews to write about this time so I will close for the present. We are all in good health. and hope when these few lines reach you they will find you all in good health and good spirits. /

I must close for the present by asking you to excuse this poorly writen letter.

            From your affectionate Nephew
