            Kind father ireceveed your letter and was glad to here from you and to here that you was well we are all well at present and in Good sperets for we got our box that was sent to Monkton and we want the folks to send word what was sent by each one for the things was mold and some of them had no name on them the boys got there boots but Ben. F. Hawthorn did not get any gloves and hary anderson is out one role of butter we got a role of butter that had our name on and some Pickles they was split and one Pound cake that was all we clame ed some of the sausage was good and some wosent Ben got arole of sausage 4 plugs of to baco that is all that us three got /
 
well we would like to see you very well and you no more about the Fery than we do now and about the war icant say much about it only i dont think it will ever be settle ed by fighting there was 6 rebbles swimed the river last nigh and gave them selves up and 3 darkeys the Pennsylvenia tobaco chewed very well tobaco is 150 cents aplug here and if you want to make aspeck get some boots such as those was sent to the boys last they will sell for 14 or 15 dollars shoes is of no acount here for they can get them any time they want them sono more at present remain your sun G.
