Dear father and the rest of the family we recaveed your kind letters and was glad to here from you and to here that you was well they found us all well at present we got the stamps and 5 00 dollars in money which we was very thankfuley receaveed and we got one from Eliza J Pile and we got the invelops you said you wanted us to tell you where Coneway was he is here but he wants to make them think that is in bisiness than solgeren for 13.00 dollars amonth he has not bin like the rest of the boys that came from Mills boro the boys all sticks to gather but him and is all the time a riting some thing / To create afuss and you nead not rely on any thing that he sais for he just stays here and is not on any duty and has not bin on any for some time well i must tell you a bout the war we get arebble paper here once in a while when we go on picket we exchange paper with them and trade coffee for to baco there paper sais that Jeff has promised them piece in 30 days and if he dont do so they will rebell they came over one night and one of our mess mates exchange ed canteens with them and got some apple Jack and to baco day be for yesterday we had 8 or 10 inches of snow here but it is very near all gon now Charley has gon back to Washington city /
I will send averse or to you and the rest of the family afew verse es that i halve got up we got another Like ness but did not get Eliza janes we sent Hariets and Casius back for we had no plase to keep them the boys is all well at present so will close for the present i still remain your sun George.
