                                                                                                            Dear Father itake
this opertunity to inform you of our health the boys is all well at present excep myself and i halve not bin well for some time andont expect to get any better while istay here for the desease is in my brest and some times halve pains in my hart and i am week all over and am not a takeing medicine for i dont think it dose me any good and for that reason i dont go for any i halve always thought Felt lik going on ever since i came out untill now and i would / Rather be at home for some days i can drill and some i cant i halve went out twise and had to leave the ranks and i cant carry my knapsack nor bare my belt around me the way we halve to do here we halve to go to the Docters or else we cant be excused and they give us just such medicine as they see fit and they halve nothing but powders and pills and turpen tine for the rheumatusy so i dont think i can stand soulgering much longer dont say any thing to mother about this i wase not of age when i came in and are not yet / and there has bin two boys takeing out of our Company since we came here on the acount of not being of age and the Captain took a oat at Pittsburg that he had ritten passed from everone of the boys parents and he did not get any from you nor from any of the Boys parents from toun so iwill close for the present say nothing to any body about this
