Camp Near the Rapidan river
Dear Father I receiveed
your kind Letter some days a go and was glad to here from you and to here that you all was well your letter found mee well and the rest of the Boys the same we left Camp on the 13th and halve bin a mooveing along ever since the most of the rebs is a cross the Rapidan we lay between the rapidan and Culpeper Ben and I was on picket yesterday they was a fireing along the line on the Left but there was no fireing where we was /
the wether is a getting Cool here we halve to use our woolen Blankets at knight I dont think there will bee any furlows granted un till we go in winter quarters now Tell Vernions that seen Mat warner the other day and he was well
there is nothing more this time I will right more the next time i still remain
