Dear Father Itis with much pleasure that I seat my self to Let you know that I am well at presen and the rest of the Boys is the same at present and I hope those few lines may find you all in joying the same good health Tell Mrs. morris that Jesse is well and he will wright in a few days we had a skirmish the other day the rebs tried to Cut us off but they did not get there ends a complished we got the hights before they did and drove them back we dont know / they are a going to make a nother atack there is nothing to right about of any im portance so I will Close for the present I still remain your
