Dear Parents I seat my self to scribble you a few lines to Let you know that I am well at present and the rest of the boys is the same and mother I receeveed your Likeness and was very glad to see it I think it is a very naturel one and I would Like to keepe it but I halve no plase to carry such things and so I will send it back If I carry them in my pockets they get wet with sweet and spoil them and there is no use of spoiling any thing that well mother we halve a very windy plase here we are on a point where / The wind has a fair swath I is more Like huntting chestnuts a laying a round here There is nothing of any im portance to right a bout this time I will try to right more the next time from George. W. Carter
