Well Cousin George how are you I thought I would write and see if you was a mong the living as I had not herd from you for a long time write and let me know about the rest of the people and how you are getting a long I quit the mines nearly five years a go and have bin working for the Pittsburgh Steel Company 4 years I couldent stand the work in and around the mines any longer. George I lost my discharge from the army and I got a duplicate the other day and I dont think it is alltogather rite it tells the rite time we were discharged the 31 fist day of may 1865 but I / dont think it gives the mustering in date I know yours and mine were the same dates going in the army an coming out
 
if you pleese I will be very thankful to you if you will write and give me the date we were mustered in and the place that is the name of the camp where we were mustered in pleas write soon as I want to get my application in for an in crease I am intitled to 6 more on the month under the act of May the 11th I am 68 past
 
now mind the mustering in date and name of place they give the date august the 12th 1862 but I thought it was sooner than that for I think we went to Washington in June and we wasent there long until we went over to Pittsburgh and we went to some camp close and / I have fogotton the name and we were there only a day or two until we were examed and sworen in the servic for 3 years or duering the war now George write and tell me all about the rest of the family and let me know if you can if Elizabeth Kelly is living yet wel its 4 a m and I wll close hoping to here from you soon   good by
