There has bin some won sent aletter to Baltimore for me i seene it advertiseed in the paper i halve not got it yet but i expect to send out by some one ovr it our pay has not come to hand yet but i think it will come be fore long the 148 regment P Voleteers is be low us at cockes vill they got payed of on mon day Last i seen the paper that the pay master is ordered around agann and we are looking very strong for him some of the boys has not got any mony to send there letters but them as send H i saveed some for that purpose Moris has sent home twise and got 500 dolars each time and has not got 75 cent now some of the boys had plenty of money they bought the most of there grub and they are the ones that is sick the most we halve lived on the kind they gave us and we are harty i will way about 170 pounds thomas wayes 1.53 pounds we halve very good quarters yet we halve no stoves yet but we can sleep very comfortable yet for awhile we dont want to put any stoves in for they are not as healtey as a greate we halve our blanke and over Coat Ben and me jeneral sleep to gather we put one under us and one over us and then put our over Coats over us we sleep as comfortable as in abead I halve sleep amany anight with astick of Cord wood under my head for apillar and sleep as comfortable as if iwas in abed i am a sitting in alays house riting in the parlor there / Is a fire here and i am a huring to get done there is no more at present i bleave but remain your sun G W Carter
