Dear Parents I wrote day before yesterday Mr Cook had a letter last night it said that they did not get his letters so he is going to write one and put in this you can cary it to Mrs Cook when you get it I should lik to know the reason why his letters cannot go as well as mine find out if they are not in the office the mud had dried up finely yesterday but it rained last night and we have enough now it was so warm yesterday that the boys let the fire go out while I was out on Battalion drill and we did not build up another though we had dry wood plenty it is very warm this morning our Capt. is going to start for home to day and I think our first Lute. will be Capt. I hope he will he will make a good one and most of the boys like him he has Comanded the Co for the last two months /
I am geting fat again I lost about 8 or 10 pounds but have got most of it back I am strong and tough and can march without being tired at all I do not balive that Simon stone is dead the way I heard was Mr Boyse of Gra Granby had a letter from home that he was shot on picket and 18 balls shot through him if that is so you would have heard of it before now for roll call we get drumed up in the morning at half past six breakfast 7 Co drill at 10 diner at 12 Battalion drill at half past one drees perade half past four super at five and then rool call 8 1/2 oclock go to bed when we get ready
