Dear Parents I have just recieved your lettrs and was very glad to hear from home again I got a letter from Martha Westgate to day she is teaching schol school in the District joining whare William lives has good times Edith is not well this winter William weighs 193 pounds and thinks that he shal get up to 200 before long if he would come out here he would ware of some of his fat she said that she heard that Mr Bingham was dead that went out in the woods to chop and did not come in at night and his wife was alone and could not go after / after him but they went out in the morning and found him dead I am a little disapointed about the box but dont care eny thing about it as we get enough to eat and that that is good we can get molasess for 46 cents a gallon at the comisaries if we can get an order from an Officer I think you had better eat up the stuf in the box yousefs I dont believe a word about the RailRoads haveing orders not to cary stuf to soldiers for their is boxes came in to the stasion by the car load when their is a car load at washington / they are forwarded hear their was a load came in day before yesterday and another expected soon but you need not send it now as we can get along just as well without we were payed of day before yesterday I sent you an order for 20 dollars which you can get at eny bank in the state when you get it go to St johnsbury that is the nearest bank and get it if you dont get the order order write to me and I can get another as the Agt. keeps a copy Mr Cook has just wrote to his folk and they wl will / or ought to get it as soon as you get this I am well and have been ever since I got rid of my cold tell Mrs Adams that I shal be glad to hear from her and I should lik to hear from Larebee and Emely if they will write I wont write eny more as it geting dark we had a fine snow storm yesterday it began to snow erly in the morning and keept snowing till this morning it fell 8 or 10 and must have melted as much more it cleared of this morning bright and warm I thought I had wrote all I could but I found candle and filed up the sheet From your
