                                                                                                Feb. 9th 1862
 
            Dear Brother I reseaved youre kind letter and was glad to hear from yow youre letter came to hand on the 8 of Feb and hit found me well at presant and hoping when those few lines comes to hand they may find yow all injoying the same blesing well Johney I havent very much to write to yow but Johney tomey sed that tobaco taste like the tobaco that he youst to get at home but he sends his best respecks to yow and pap and Mother and oll of his friends well Johney there was one of oure boys died with the Small pox his name is Dack Dearth but that is oll ove the Sase of that Deseas but Jack McGeth is very sick with the feaver but he is some better than he was tell tomas Strall that he is better and I think he will get well now but oll of the boys is well at presant Robert B Hase got a letter from Lurestin he sed that the nigars had beag meting but Jim Ship / has got Releagon but did old antney Mabra get hit to well did hit go in the beage end of the horn or in the little end but I wood like to now where this nigar meting is tell me in the next letter but Johney we havent had nery fite yet and I dont know wether that we will have one or not but Johney tell me in the next letter ho is working in the Black Smith Shop and in the me Shean Shop with Williams but I go on guard ever Saterdy morning and come of a Sundy morning at 8 o clock but Johney tell B Ellis that I want him to write and if he dont I never will make a nothe mark as to writing to him eney moore that is ol at presant write soone but give my bes respecks to J B Williams & to L Buler
