Dear Brother I take the plasure of ancering youre kind letter of the 16 it came to hand on the 27 of Aprile & it found me well at the presant time & hoping when those few lines comes to hand they may find yow well & in good helth well Lurestin we had a little fight at the Tennessee River a plase they coll Bridgeport & we had there camp surounded & we come in on them & they run like dogs but we took a bout 3 hunderd of them / presnirs but we did not get hert none of us but as we was a coming from Bridge port oure train was fird in to & there was 2 boys got wonded slitley dident hert them very much but we get plenty to eat here we must of capturd 2 thousand Barells of floure & 3 hunderd Barles of Molases & we get plenty of Beef shugar coffee & Molases & Benes & rice & hard Bread & every thing that we wont but lurestin I seen bud the other day he is a driving the devesion Amblence he is a doing nothing / now but he hols the mail once & a while but lurestin we burnt the Bridge that went over the Bridge at River & we are in camp at Hunstvill & wont Have nothing to do onley guard this town once & a while So no more at presant write Soone
