Dear Father I take the plasure of writing yow a few lines to let yow now that yow I am well at the presant time & hoping when those few lines comes to hand they may find yow oll in the same helth well Father yow must excuse me fore not writing to yow sooner for I halve not had not much Time to write for we have bin a going so much but they took us to decator after we come to Huntsvill & we staid there a bout one week & there was orders came for /us to Burn down that Bridge that goes over the Tennessee River & we Burnt it down on Sunday & the next day we went to Steavson it is a bout 16 miles from Bridgeport & we campt at Steaveson oll night & then we started for Bridgeport and we got there against 3 O.clock in the eavning & we drowed upin line a battle & we went on the Rebles at a charge Banets & we took a good meney prisners & cild a good meney of them but there camp ground was on the other side of the river & capt Lumoses Batry was a throng shells at the Rebles on the other side of the river & it wod / of done yow a good eal of good to of seen the Rebles a runing out of there camp they left oll there tents & run like cats but after that we started for Huntsvill & we marched oll night & part of the next day but pap oure Regt is provos guards in huntsvill & I go on guard evry 2 days but it dont heart me eney atall I can stand it firs trate but I gess yow heard that I was sick in the hospitte but that is oll a misStake but pap tell Robert ivens that I seen his Brother George evions at Aithons Alabama he come to oure Regt & asked if there was eney Bodey By From Barnesvill & I told him that / I was from there and that is they way I found him out to be his Brother but pap there is a man here by the name of Kiluin Hager Peteycord he is from Barnesvill & he knows yow we capturd him he did be long to a Rebles calvry he was a nordley Sergnt of Morgons calvry we took him prisners & he is under guard but tell Kiluin Hagor about him & see if he nowes him but pap we will get paid of in a few days & I am a going to send yow 35 dolars by oure Setler he is a going to columbus & he will exspress it to yow No more at presant plas write soon
