                        Dear Sister
your                             I received your letter in due season & have at last sat down to answer it, we are having more snow here so the sleighing does not ware out if it dont stop before long we shall be all snowed in. the snow is very deep here but I hope that it will go off in the course of next summer. we had a nite society at Mrs De. R last evening & had a very plesant time, that is the way we manage here to furnish the churches they will appoint / a society at some hous & all that go give from 5 cts to 20 just as they have a mind they have a good visit & go home well pleased. there was about 85 persons last evening old & young.
 
It is very dull here this winter the going is so bad that the farmers dont venture out more than they can help I expect we shall have lively times here next winter summer they are going to build a railroad here next summer so we shall have lots of business it is running within 10 miles of this place this winter
 
I am stopping with Mr De Riemer now & dont know but I shall learn the trade Gust is here to / so we have a good old time Mr De Riemer is one of the best men he is a presbiterran and a man that enjoyes religeon if aney man does. we have good meetings here this winter there has been one or two converted. I attend the presbiterran church most of the time I sing in the choir we have first reate sining to
 
I suppose that things move on after the old fashion in Guilford I should like to get into your sellar a little while if I wouldent fill my pockets with cider & apples we have to pay one cent a piece for apples that you would not feed to the hogs & 4 to 5 cents for aney that / is fit to eat how does Mrs Main get along this cold wether hope she wont friz up give my love to Uncle Thomas & Aunt Lucy how does Aunt Lucy get along this winter well I hope I cant think of aney more so I must close with love to all my love to Katey & Marg
