Unknown to Unknown, undated
I have seen little Jimmy Boss twice today, he is a perfect little hero; this is his third battle and all his comrades all cuncur in saying, that they have never seen him flinch, or draw back, when ordered into battle he always had a kind and encourageing word for each one, his parents may well be proud of such a son. When he was shot, he said to some of his comrades, “there now boys they’ve gone and shot me, never mind Mr Yankee I will pay you for this soon” and (how characteristic of the child) he will pay them soon I am happy to say he is rapidly recovering, he is the pet of his Regt. /
