Dear Miss I take this present opportunity of writing you a fue lines to let you now tat I am well I havent nothing of importance to write we are all hear in camps yet though I think that we will leav hear in too or three days for alpasso I should like to see you all back thair if it was so that I could though you now that I cant see you all and fight the yankes to and you now that is one thing we mus not neglect fighting the yankes I must tell you that I have bin to meating severel times since I hav bin hear in camps we hav three or four preachers in camps we have meating in camps a bout once a weak I was at preaching last Sunday thair was a bout three hundred men thair and I did not see nary girl thair I think that I would be beter satisfide if I could see some of the girls at meating I want you to write to me jest as soon as you get this leter. Direct your leters thus

S B then your leters will follow me untill I get thim I must tell you something a bout my wash / ing. it takes me all day to wash one or too shirts and nrly ever time that I cook I burn my fingers I now that you would laugh if you could see me a working up flour bread I think if I ever get back that I will quit washing and cooking if I can find some young lady that will tell me yes I hav not got to shoot nary yanke yet though I think that I will get a mong thim after while I am in hopes that we will whipe the yankes prity soon and return to our homes safe and sound be shore to write jest as soon as you get this leter with out fail you must excuse bad writing and speling I have a bad chance to write in our tent brother henry and henry wommack sends thair best respects to you all and ses for you all to write to thim So I will come to a close I remain yours truly frind untill Deth
