Dear Father and Mother
                        I received a letter from you night before last and now I will try and answer it I am well as usual and hope you are the same you need not worry about me for there is no more danger of me getting sick than there would be if I wer at home and if I should get sick I should go to the hospital and be taken care of Billy Beebe has got back from the hospital Jimmy Warner is at the hospital yet
 
            I got a letter from Matt Fuller the other day she was well when she wrote you wanted to know how Henry liked his new employment well enough I guess he is well as usual with the eception of having / one of his fingers smashed up bad he was loding lumber at the mill and got his finger a piece of timber and smashed it all to pieces
 
now about the logs they are all kinds whitewood oak and beach they are for all kind of lumber most of the Whitewood we draw to the river and they are rafted down to Nashville we draw them on trucks the wheels are about as large as the forward wheels to our common two horse wagons some of the logs are so large that they have to put on five and six yoke of oxen to hall them you wanted to know how deep the mud was mud is a thing we dont have downe here it has not raned but a very few times since we came here it is very warm here and gras is allmost knee high in some places /
 
how does my colt get along does he look as though he would ever be good for any thing I wish some of you would see that my gun does not get rusty I cant think of any more
