Dear Father Mother and Sister
I received your letter of the 21st today and now will try and answer it I am well as usual I am working in the mill yet I like it better than working in the woods how does John Wait feel since he got home I guess about half aled him was because he was homesick I dont like the way that George is doing I dont think he ought to be an expense to the government and not do them any good if he aint fit to go back he aught to be discharged /

I would like to be at home and see the folks and get some Golden sweete apples and go a hunting I am glad you are going to have some winter apples I will be at home and help gather them if nothing hapens tell Stranahan that sawyers are getting $75 per month here and bord

I am glad Aunt Dorcas has heard from her boys for I know that she must felt bad when she did not know wheather they were dead or alive I am sorry to hear that Henry Farnsworth is dead what battle was he killed in
you say the draft is not settled yet the draft does not keep me here a minute the reason I stay is because I cant make so much money any other place /

you need not be afraid of the rebs taking me for they will have to do some good fighting before they get me or any one else in this camp I suppose E Parker has some tall stories to tell dont he since he has got back if he could not get along 100 days I wonder what he would do if he was drafted

I got a letter from Angie the other day she is well and says she enjoyes herself first best she says the last she heard from her Father he was sargent of an ambulance corpse if he has got that place he will have an easy time of it and not be in much danger
