Dear Father Mother and Sister
how do you do this fine sabath morning I am well as usual and enjoying myself first best since I wrote you last we have moved back to our up old camp I belong to a cavalry company we drawed our horses and carbines a few days agoe all we have to do is to scout through the Country and guard forage tranes we was on picket the other night the out side pickets fired twice you ought to have seen how quick we were in our saddles it was not long I tell you but we could not find any thing so we went back to bead and slept till morning /

our Company is 30 strong William Born belongs we are on duty evry other day I think that is easier than working evry day we get $45 a month the same as we did before and can quit when our time is out if we want to all the rest of the men in this camp are armed with muskets and have to drill three times a week our cavalry co is quartered in a block house built in the shape of a starr we could stand the rebs a good fight before they could take it

I hear the draft in Ohio is put off 15 days there is a good many coming down here to get rid of it but it takes them down a little when they have to take one of them / old muskets

It is over a week since I got a letter from you and I had a good notion not to write to you agane till I got one from you I cant think of any more write soon and oblige
