Dear Sister
                        I received your letter was glad to hear from you was a fraid that you would have a sore throat. Christmas Orin went up & got Ema & the children & we went over home Hattie had a lot of things on the shelf in the kitchen I went to look at them & their was a pair of vases for me I was vary much surprised their are the same as that one you give me a bout 1/2 or 2/3 as high they are vary pretty O. B. got me a new felt skirt nava blue there is a pleeted ruffal on the botom with a piece of old gold stiched on the botom & a piece of Nava blue with a cord of old gold at each edge to head it I got me some canda & a can of oysters. And for New Years I had a invatation to Dan Stewards a hous warming on Saturday & we went we had a nice time their wer over 75 grown persons besides the children we had a nice time Lucy ann Sayres was their she says Cal expectes to finish in the spring he is at C. Colage yet & then she will get a chance to teach wheare she can in town or Contry. I went over home to day on old Frank’s back now it is evening / and I will finish your letter Ma & Pa wer to church. Hattie was out to Ema’s Thare was a donation to Elder Stewards Friday we went over their was a big croud thare our folks was over & Hattie & John in the evening Ren, H. L. Davis & Mrs Holmes & Frank, Ben & Mrs F. & S. Pratt & wife & daughter was thare from this neighborhood the rest wer from Lyona. We had a splendid time we went for dinner & was going to stay in the evening Orin came home & did the chores & came back & we stayed untill after seven & I was so tired we came home. they got to playing up stairs & made more racket than a thrashing machien they got 57 dolars worth. /
 
When I was over home got the Northern Messenger of 1881 to read they will keep me buisy for a while I weigh 107 lbs you are a head of me yet. Monday my warsh woman did not warsh to day she of only warsh every two weeks. I have done one weeks warshing since you went away Orin done all the rubing with the mashien I help ring & so on Eva Salen is teaching to Tounville this winter we got Ema a skein of brown yarn for her a pair of mittens for a Christmas presant my bread is high & I must nead it out good by write soon L.C.

I am much a bliged for the lace you sent me Hattie got what you sent her.

though you would not stay in the spring I hope you will not if you are not able or if it will be too hard for you. am sory for for Winnie have you been up their since you went back. Eva has not been sick as we have heard of yet. Ed Lowing’s was hear on a visit last week I dont know as you can make this out. L. Carr.

                                                As Lydia was writing I thought I would pen you a few lines Lydia has written all the News I don know as I can think of any thing to write. We are all well as common Lydia is not a well as she was when you was out she cannot stand to do much.
 
Emma is not very well / Dont know how Eva is. Mart dont apear to be studin so hard as he was he is a going to cut some wood for Pa. Sarah Abram and Anna Hunt have gon West. Elvin went to take care of his Uncle. Mr Syrant got a letter from them on friday. they stated that thair Oldest child was sick & They was home sick that they had a good mind to come home Alonzo & Gillie Call it quit How are the folk up to Edinboro & how do is your health yours Truly O.B.C.
