Mr. Frost.
Sometime ago I sent to you for some stamps that I have not yet received and I now write to request you to send me ten dollars in cash as soon as you conveniently can. if you have sent the stamps I presume I shall receive / them sooner or later if you have not sent them you will please send them the same time you do the money. things are going on well here it has not got to be very cold weather here yet the regiment is at work all the time, seven hours a day, throwing up breastworks, which of course does not please the boys very well, but they have to do it, but the portion of the line alotted to our brigade is nearly done. we shall pretty nearly if not quite finish it this week. I think some of reenlisting in the first Connecticut Artillery if I go there I shall have to stay three years from the time I enlist there but as if I stay here I shall be pretty / apt to get discharged in one year from the present time I guess of the two I shall stay here. my object in enlisting there would be to get a furlough as the terms offered is a thirty days furlough as soon as enlisted, besides several other inducements in the shape of money. please answer this soon
Yours Respectfully
