Dear Brother
I received your welcome letter of the 3rd inst on last evening but being on duty at the time I could not answer it until this evening.

Mrs Chapman was here on Monday last. I did not see her as I had started up the river on picket. we have not got much time in Camp at present as our Regt & the 128th has to picket the river for eight miles. We are expecting 300 drafted men on from Harrisburg to fill our Regt our Comp is to have 50 of them. we will not have so much duty to do after they come

John Price wishes you to tell Mrs Jones to send him a Waist-coat. I believe he said that he had one at her house. he is on Picket tonight so that I can not give particulars for myself I dont want any thing more than I gave you in my last.

let the vest be of a dark colour
You can direct them to Harpers Ferry
                                                Va /

There is nothing new to write and it is pretty cold     so I will close

Give my love to Mother, Brothers & Sisters to all inquiring Friends
            and receive the same yourself
                        from your aff Bro
