I am well and this Sabath morning finds me seated in our tent in ans to yours of the 8th which I received last night I was glad to hear from you and Deal and Lote you wrote Lote was Homesick that is not uncommon for her when we worked in haying there she would get Homesick in a week.
I guess you had a big time with those Oysters I should of liked verry much to of been there and asisted but I cant and if you dont stop writing about Oysters sider apples and good things to eat when I cant have a chance in I shall come Home in 7 and 1/2 months and see about matters and things I bet you /
Bill I should like very much to be there this winter and help you draw wood and Hay that would just suit me Bill you spoke about bying a farm wanted to no if I wanted to go in and if so how when I goo in I want to go endways but if I should have enny thing to do about it I should like to no more about it than I do if there is a chance for a big bargin or a chance for speculating and mak my a big thing out of it I am in you no I bet you

Bill we have just been on Inspection in Heavy marching order we have drawed our rations for dinner and eat them not more than half enough they kept us out 2 howrs in the cold to examin our guns and / equipments knapsacks and cloths it is Clear and cold it froze hard last night it is 2 oclock and has not thoughed much yet some days it is as warm as spring and acks verry much like spring then at night it it will freze and be cold for 3 or 4 days it is verry changeable hear and suden changes the weather will change sometimes in 1/2 an hour from warm to cold. it is a cold raw wind today

Deal a few lines to you wrote you was glad I was contented with my lot I might as well be contented as enny thing else I am hear and have got to stay my time out unless they Embalm me and send me off I am Pining away to a cart load I onley weigh 200 lbs the last time I was weighed that was 3 or 4 weeks ago I am fleshyer now than I was then and still gaining Deal there is some talk of Peace hear now there was a salute fired at the Point thursday last it is the first fireing that has been done there since we came to the Point it was rumord that Blair and son was there talking about an armistest for 30 days also that a flag of truce went up front this is rumord in the Papers how true it is we dont know if it is so I dont think there will be enny more fighting I think both Parteys are satisfyed with war and I remain as ever your Bro O Roades write soon
