I got a letter from him the other night and then he said that his doctor said that his stump was agetting along well, but he said that he suffered a great deal of pain, but I am in hopes that he will soon get well, and up and around, but you must rite / to him, and also to me for I want to hear all of the news. there is not any thing new agoing on here now so I am at a loss for to know what to rite, but the best news is that I am well and hearty as ever, and every night I am looking for a letter from you or some of the folks, but I often look in vain, but then I make my self contented untill untill the next mail comes again, / but I must close so no more at presant. rite soon.
