Dear Sister
I now take the opportunity of writeing a line to you in answer to youres of the 15th of this month witch I received last night and was glad to hear from you but I hope that your brest and shoulders will soon be well. you say that I must not reenlist. I have no notion of so doing nor hadent wen I rote to you before. / but I thought that it would bring an answer prety quick and it did. so you can call it strategy. there is not any thing new around here at presant that I know of so I cant write mutch news. we are a drilling near every day.
You wanted to know if I did not send a valentine to Miss Sproul in mail milford for to send to you. I will most certainly plead not Guilty for I have not seen any place down here that I could / get any at all. so I dont see why you should charge me with it. You must have been mistaken in the hand writing. and you say that you have caught me at last writing to young ladies. I suppose that I am guilty of that as I have been writing to you this some time. but the Valentine gets a head on my time. I would like to know what cind a one it was you must tell me in your next as you said that you would / write a good long one wen you receive this. so I hope to hear from you soon. you must excuse all in this letter as I do not feel mutch like writeing to day for I have a cold and am stoped up some but I think that I will soon be well again. I am on duty yet so it is not very bad with it.
I must close so no more at presant. write soon.
my love to you all
I remain your true
Brother,
Wilson Sproul
