Dear Venila haveing last night had the priveleg to listen once again to a short sermon from the holey word of god I thought that I would write to you and let you know that I have heard the word of god expounded and listened to it with great pleasure and I hope with profit we listened to the words found in the fourth Chapter of Saint John the words you know not what you worship and the beautey of this one thing that we have not got to go to to the temples that are built by men to worship but we can worship him right in the Camp and not to be seen by men as the nations of old upon the corners of the streets / but when thear is no ey to se and no ear to hear but the all mighty one then we can call upon him and if we call in faith then we have the promis that we shall be heard and all though we are deprived the priveleg of meeting every sabath we have the privileg of worshiping him in our hearts every day of our lives and I thank god that I have ben led to se my state of wickedness and as I hope and trust have ben plucked as a brand from the burnings whear thear will bee weaping and wailing and nashing of teath and when I think of the goodness of god that he called upon us when we wer in sin and led us to put our trust in him and to flea from the rath / to come we have the same privilege to prey though we are far from each other still we can call upon the same god and can prey for each other and for all of our friends that we may all met in heaven at last and goin in praising him for ever and ever now let us all Join in thanking our father in heaven for preserving our health and for the blessings that we engoy the reason that we have not had aney preaching is this the Chaplains brother dide as I think I have written you before and he has Just got back to the Regiment and I for one am glad to se him a gain we are all well give my love to all the friends that we have
