Dear Nila I now take my pen in hand to write you a few lines to let you know that I am yet alive and well and tough as ever and I hope that these few lines may find you engoying the same great blessing for I think it one of the greatest blessings that could be bestowed upon us I have got some cold but not very bad it is the first that I have had since I left home thare is some sick in Camp I went up to the hospital with billey Dolan he was sick this morning he was faint and sick to his stomache I dont know how he will cum out but I dont think that he will stay thare longe / both of the Whitman boys have ben sick for about 2 weaks they have had the Janders and I tell you you would laugh to se them go round but then I suppose that they did feel bad I want you to write as often as you can wheather you get one from me or not but I shall write two or three times a weak Erastus has got better than he was he sent home for some money he got the letter yesterday but it had ben miscaried and went to the 37 instead of the 34 and it was opened and the money taken out and the letter sent on then to him be carfull and direct your letters plain they have all come all streight / and I hope that they all will now Nila I want you to prey for all of those that have not put their trust in him god will protect all that love and trust him now prey often and kiss them Children tell them to be good and mind their mother I must close now and may god bless you all
