I now lift up my pencel to lett you know that I am well and I hope these fue lines may find you enjoying the same
Will I havent got much to give you this time in the news line but one thing we have got to the place at last we have moved to the banks of Green river we hardley got her till we had to come to arms to fight the rebls the rebls attacked ous but it was the rong boys / thay run agien but we mad them scaleyhute tords home 300 hundred of our men run five thosand we stud on the hill redy to asist them that was a head of ous our lose was ten kild and the same amount wounded the lose of the rebls was 65 kild and a grat any wunded Will our boys is fighting handy for you can her the caons firing right briskly this morning. Will I will haf to bring to a close give uncl John and ant my respects and the rest of the family tell Josephin that I send my respects to her and Collie and Ann / and a portion to you self. good by onst more
