            Dear Madam

                                    “The Box” and contents all reached me in safety and were most acceptable and was very much relished

 

                                    The kind remembrance of my humble Tent and Self are more grateful than I have words to express. It did not require the “Present” to keep Major Jones Yourself or Mrs White in my memory.

 

                                    I trust it will not be long before the visit is repeated, and I must urge upon you to feel, as the Major does—when about to visit me—that He is Coming Home
