It is not the Impuls of a Home it was yet the Ideal Curosity I write you at this time But permit me to say that these lines is from a True Friend though Friendship may be but a name that lives only with us in Prosperity with some It is lasting as life and what is better than a True Friend and Len such would i be held in your Esteem
 
Leonard you will pleas / excuse me when i tell you that I have been very much Afflicted with soar Throte and Eye I took a very sever cold wich setteld in my throat and Eye which caused me suffer until now
 
                                                                                                            I received your kind letter and was glad to hear that you ondersood me so well you have been a good Friend to me in time past we hope to be so in In time to come all though we can never be more than Friends let us be that in reality in life it cost nothing in death it will be forgoten my minature you shal have as soon as i can get it taken providing you will give it back to me if I ever ask it of you / As it might cause disturbance in the family that the Reason that I ask you to Acept & it on terms
 
            Len it will soon be Christmaus and if you dont get me about fifty 11 Preasants i will die out sure Len come over and see me i want you to see how good looking i am some one says that I am Pretty though that Is all Flatery you can tell better when you see me besides i want to sell my my Dulcimer to you I want to buy a silk dress and I cant get the money for it unless you come over and buye it so come soon write soon and believe your true frend                 L.
