we crossed the rappanick river in doble quick time under a heavy fire of musketry an cannon dear wife our company sufered severly our captain got wounded I am safe yet thank God we are three and 3 nights on the battle field dear wife keep Jacop home he do not know the horrors of war If he was to see all the men and horses carying ded he would not want to come out heare / My dear wife if I do not write again you will know what happened to me
